A filling replaces part of a tooth that has been lost because of decay or through accidental damage.
Tooth coloured or 'white' fillings provide a healthier, more natural looking alternative to traditional amalgam fillings.
White fillings are know as 'composite' fillings and are made from a putty-like resin based material that can be moulded to the exact shape of the tooth. They have some limitations involving size and position in the mouth, and your dentist will discuss these with you.
White fillings allow for a more minimally invasive restoration and as a result you preserve more of your natural tooth.
